Context

For a direct-to-consumer health brand, we redesigned a post-purchase onboarding flow requiring patients to submit protected health information and complete identity verification. The original experience had high drop-off at the PHI entry stage. We introduced a segmented progress architecture, a pre-form overview page that set expectations upfront, and intentional moments of delight at key friction points. The result: a sensitive, compliance-adjacent experience that felt human without sacrificing rigor.

The challenge was translating complex clinical logic into an interface that non-technical clinical staff could navigate without training overhead. We focused on information hierarchy, status visibility, and reducing cognitive load at the documentation layer.
